Getting Started
Are you accepting new clients?
Yes, I am accepting new clients who are 15+, adults, and parents of children of any age.
Do you work with children?
No. I work with older adolescents (ages 15+) and adults. I also work with parents of children of all ages, including parents of adult children.
How do I get started?
You can reach out through the contact form on this website or by email. If it feels helpful, we can schedule a free 30-minute consultation to briefly discuss what you are looking for and determine whether working together may be a good fit.
Do you offer a consultation?
Yes. I offer a free 30-minute consultation.
Sessions, Fees, and Insurance
Do you offer telehealth sessions or in-person appointments?
All sessions are held via Zoom.
How often will we meet?
Most clients meet once per week, particularly at the beginning of therapy. However, the frequency of sessions can be adjusted depending on your needs and goals.
How much do you charge?
My fee is $250 for a 50-minute session for individuals and couples.
Do you offer sliding scale fees?
Yes. I offer sliding scale options ranging from $100–$250 per session. Rather than requiring financial documentation, I invite clients to select a rate within that range that reflects what they are realistically able to afford.
Do you accept insurance?
I am not an in-network provider with any insurance plans. However, on a case-by-case basis, I may be able to request a single-case agreement with your insurance company. Learn more about single-case agreements here.
Do you provide super-bills?
Yes. I partner with Mentaya to help clients use their out-of-network insurance benefits for potential reimbursement. Mentaya can submit claims on your behalf and charges a 5% fee per claim. This fee includes completing any required paperwork, addressing claim denials, and communicating directly with insurance companies. Mentaya guarantees that claims will be successfully submitted. If they are unable to submit a claim successfully, their fee will be fully refunded.
How does Mentaya work?
If your insurance plan offers out-of-network benefits, it means they will cover a portion of the cost when you see a therapist who doesn't have a direct contract with your insurance company.
Unlike in-network providers, who bill your insurance company directly, with out-of-network therapists, you typically pay for the session upfront and then submit a claim to your insurance for reimbursement.
Insurance companies often reimburse a percentage of the therapist's fee, usually after you meet an out-of-network deductible. For example, after you meet a $1,000 deductible, your insurance may reimburse 50-80% of the session cost.
Out-of-network benefits give you the flexibility to choose a therapist based on your needs and preferences, not just those in-network.Check to see if you have out-of-network benefits at mentaya.com/b/dr-aok
